Quality Assurance Director

Varitron is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Director. 

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Director is responsible for leading the team under their responsibility. They are responsible for managing the company’s quality system at all levels. They establish strategies, action plans and evaluation methods for achieving quality objectives. They also help to implement and monitor ongoing improvement projects with all departments. They are responsible for ensuring an adequate level of employee training as regards equipment, methods or processes with a favorable impact on product quality.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, implement and manage the quality system (QMS)

  • Develop quality strategies based on the annual business plan and operational plans, define objectives and develop action plans accordingly
  • Communicate and monitor objectives
  • Manage certification activities (ISO, IPC)
  • Set up quality assurance team
  • Implement appropriate mechanisms to ensure the management of corrective and preventive actions, both internally and for clients

Take part in ongoing improvement projects

  • Provide analysis needed to develop ongoing improvement strategies
  • Help set up processes to trigger ongoing improvement projects
  • Provide operations with the data necessary for daily production monitoring (FPY, DPMO, etc.)

Maintain customer relations at the quality level

  • Establish and maintain close and proactive relationships with clients on quality topics and ensure a high level of communication
  • Support the company’s various business units during client meetings pertaining to the quality of all our services and during various customer reviews (quarterly or otherwise)
  • Participate in quality forums with our clients as needed

Manage human resources (multisite):

  • Build the team needed to support the business plan
  • Establish, direct and evaluate the work performed by departmental resources
  • Evaluate, plan and develop the skills of human resources
  • Define and deploy quality policies and procedures and implement monitoring mechanisms.

 
REQUIREMENTS
10 years’ experience or more in manufacturing, including 10 years in quality assurance
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
Experience in team and project management
Bilingual, English and French
Efficient communicator
Leadership influence and expertise
Collaborator
Capacity to adapt speech according to the audience
Capacity to summarize
Knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement approaches and processes
Knowledge of Office suite
Knowledge of electronic assembly processes and components (a plus)
Knowledge of ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, IPC and J-STD standards
